DISCOVER
Our research showed that learners engage most with reference tools such as dictionaries, translation apps and grammar reference portals. Learners believe that vocabulary and sentence building (as opposed to grammar rules) are key in improving their English. Therefore the solution was expected to be a blend of language practice in bite-sized lesson format with dictionary and grammar reference.
DEFINE
Value Proposition
The process identified key requirements for the minimum viable product as well as the interactions and content needed to create the value for learners and seek funding to build a proof of concept and continue user research in order to ensure it helps us create a direct relationship with learners.
DEVELOP
Based on the research the proposed solution was a customer-facing self-study mobile app with a freemium model. The product model was consistent with the organization strategy to deliver course premium features to learners. Here the vocabulary & grammar were expected to be a free module in a form of a mobile app. Primarily, this was expected to generate user-base and help the company improve at using the learner data and generate the pool of known learners.
