This project focused on optimizing print course content for mobile devices. I played the role of the project lead. The objective was to redesign the content product workflow, enable content reuse and laying foundation for adaptive learning through meta-tagging. This initiative involved multiple stakeholders across the organization, working directly with the executive team and department SME's. The outcome of the project is implementation plan for digital transformation of content.
I carried out desk research, exploring various mobile apps and learning platforms, looking into common question types and interactions that are specific to touch screens. The results informed informed the data points required to render activities on both mobile and desktop screen.
Through experimentation and multiple conversation with internal stakeholders I proposed a concept of breaking down all activities to a common and uniform question format that could be rendered based on context and learning stage.
Working backwards from the expected outcome I define a set of question types and proposed a workflow of content creation with built-in quality assurance system. The concept suggested reflow-able screen with single or multiple questions depending on the device. Here are included some examples of themes for mobile content player.
The solution discussed with users and internal stakeholders proposed the content creation workflow to start with maximum flexibility working with text manuscripts. The design proposed a text editor which would validate the syntax, run a spell check and parse content into valid interactive activities supported by Learnosity platform. The final stage of the workflow is to export the valid data directly to a themed printout which would be used by the publishing design studio to prepare the print template.
